The handles are made myself, in-house by Tracey Mackenzie. They are comprised of a unique resin mixture also developed in-house. The handles are also shaped to resemble the older striping brushes I had learned on, thanks to the awesome design skills of Tyler Waller. The shape is often referred to as "bowling pin" or "baseball bat." The color coding came about simply because, Tracey works full time as a pinstriper, airbrush artist, and custom painter, so he's always digging through his kits for a brush. Well, most are all the same color of brown little sticks or black. The numbers wear off, or get paint all over them, and he couldn't seem to tell what size the brush may be. So, now, with a florescent translucent colored handle, they're pretty easy to spot and know exactly what size you're grabbing or looking for. They are sized in what we feel are the best "working" sizes brush set . Sizes are a 1X broadliner for big fills, gold size, etc 2X, 3X, 4X pinstriping brushes. He sent them directly to Mack Brush to have them wrapped on his handles.
